In unsicheren Zeiten, wie der aktuellen sind neue Ansätze nötig. Dies bietet wiederum Chancen für Regionen wie unsere. Ein neuer Blick auf die Bedürfnisse der Menschen ist nötig: Die Sehnsucht nach Verbundenheit und Gemeinschaft steigt. Das neue Grundbedürfnis heisst: Resonanz. Darin verbirgt sich der Wunsch nach der Erfahrung in unmittelbarem Bezug mit Menschen und Dingen, die auch nach der Reise bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen. Reisen wird zum neuen Wert für die persönliche Entwicklungsbiografie.
STORY is a space for resonance in Thusis, in the Viamala region - in the heart of the Grisons mountains.
The following values guide us in our actions: People at the center, regionally & locally connected, authentic, grateful, open and simple. Respect and life balance, quality, love of nature and sustainability.
We are organized based on self-organized principles and a role model, and put the team before the individual. Together we learn daily. We believe that everyone in the team can and wants to act independently and intuitively contributes the best to the whole.

History – Where We Come From
Aufbauend auf der Viamala Sportwerkstatt ist die STORY Thusis entstanden.
Hier kannst du seit Herbst 2023, Eingangs der Viamala-Schlucht in Thusis GR, arbeiten, einkehren, schlafen oder einfach nur sein. Weiterhin werden unter der Sportwerkstatt Mountainbike-Erlebnisse und alles was das Biker-Herz begehrt, angeboten. Die Sportwerkstatt ist nun quasi das erste Bike- & Schneesportgeschäft mit einem eigenem Coworking, einer Lodge und einer Lounge.
2011 gründeten Matthias, Johannes und Martin die Viamala Sportwerkstatt GmbH, mit der Absicht Dreh- und Angelpunkt für Mountainbike-Erlebnisse in der Region Viamala zu werden. Zwischenzeitlich ist das Familienunternehmen, dank unzähliger Unterstützung im Freundes- und Familienkreis und den diversen Events rund um das Thema Mountainbike, längst ausgewachsen.
Now, this is an area of STORY Thusis, a place of resonance where leisure and work merge and guests meet locals. To this end, the 6 owners Flurina, Franziska, Annina, Matthias, Johannes & Martin founded the company Viamalastorys.ch AG in February 2021.
Our responsibility towards our planet
Based on our values, we want to contribute to an attractive tomorrow.
We will discuss a few of these contributions here. We are guided by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN's 2030 Agenda, to which we as a society have committed ourselves. This also applies to Switzerland, as explained in a video on the website of the Swiss Confederation. You can find a detailed overview of our contributions here.
We have always tried to incorporate sustainability and regionality into our planning and construction phase. Whenever possible, we rely on local entrepreneurs and service providers.
STORY is intended to contribute to the attractiveness and added value of the region in and around Thusis. Our products in the lounge are carefully selected, locally produced wherever possible and delivered via short routes. We always try to develop ourselves further and follow the idea of a regenerative economy and a circular economy.
We consciously enter into partnerships and network. STORY offers a platform for local & regional service providers and brings people together to walk common paths. Coworking is another contribution to shortening long commutes and enabling exchange across company boundaries.
With Coworkations, the region, the culture and the nature are brought closer to the guests and teams and a valuable relationship to it is created, which should help to create awareness and concern for our environment and our planet.
